Her Story
Gloria Anne Fritz, loving mother of four, and loving Grandmother of eleven, was welcomed by her beloved Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on July 30, 2026, into heaven while surrounded by her husband, Cassidy C. Fritz, and family.
Gloria was the eldest daughter born to Dr. Herbert P. Schneider and Ruth Schneider (Kublik) in Orlando, Florida, on September 3, 1959. She was joined by her sister, Theresa Waggoner (Schneider), two years later. The Schneider family moved to the Middlebury/Goshen area when Gloria was four where her Father started his successful Chiropractic practice. Thereafter, Gloria attended Goshen High School and Biola University in California.
In February of 1980, she met her soon to be husband, Cassidy C. Fritz, a Montana native, at which time she became eternally devoted to him. Both of them recognized that the Lord had drawn them together so they wasted no time, and on June 21, 1980, she married Cassidy C. Fritz in Winona Lake, Indiana.
Ultimately, Gloria persuaded her husband to settle down in Indiana where she assisted him while he was at Valparaiso University School of Law and subsequently in his Law practice, and teaching at the Campbell University School of Law in North Carolina and for a short time in Guatemala.
Together, Gloria and Cassidy became the parents of four wonderful children and eleven precious grandchildren: Dr. Braxton C. Fritz (Stephanie), of San Antonio, Texas, and their children Remington, Karlin, Lincoln and Alayne “Layney” Fritz; Lathan Fritz (Haley), of LaFontaine, Indiana, and their children Haiden, Isla, Weston and Selah Hope Fritz; B. Shandra Bergh (Fritz) (Zachary), of Middlebury, Indiana; and T. Cheyenne Swanson (Fritz) (Scott), of Goshen, Indiana, and their children Haven, Macie and Tyson Swanson.
Over the years, while Gloria was actively involved in different churches and different organizations, alone, and with her husband, she was first and foremost a devoted and loving Mother and Grandmother (Gigi). Gloria arose every morning to sit by the fireplace to drink her mandatory coffee while she read/studied her Bible and prayed to her Heavenly Father.
Gloria was always gentle and loving, a woman in whom there was no guile, and she shared her faith with anyone and everyone. She was the Proverbs 31 woman. Her husband often bragged that in 46 years of marriage, Gloria never raised her voice to him on a single occasion because God had crafted in her, and blessed within her, a permanent, gentle and forgiving spirit.
Gloria homeschooled her children for a number of years while they were young and even into high school while she loved on them daily. When Grandchildren came, Gigi’s great joy every day was to see, and spend time with, her Grandchildren, sharing the Love of God with them, reading to them, playing board games with them and loving on them just like she loved on her children.
Even during her short illness, her witness shone through to the medical staffs which attended to her, and virtually each one of them commented about her gentle and loving spirit. She never ever hid her light.
She will be missed, and while our sorrow is great for now, it is temporary for we shall see her soon, and we look forward to that day!
